FMCS Statement on Reynoldsburg Schools Negotiations

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio, Sept. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) issued the following statement today on the labor negotiations between the Reynoldsburg City School District Board of Education and the Reynoldsburg Education Association:

"An FMCS mediator met with representatives of the parties on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in discussions aimed at assisting them in reaching an agreement to end the current work stoppage affecting Reynoldsburg schools.

"These discussions now have been recessed until the parties re-convene at a later date.

"The FMCS is prepared to provide further assistance and will remain in contact with the parties should they request further mediation services from the FMCS. However, the parties are free to meet without the presence of the mediator if they wish. At this time, no further meetings have been scheduled with the FMCS mediator."

Because of the sensitivity of the ongoing discussions, FMCS will have no further comment at this time.
