FMC Corporation Acquires Herbicide from Kumiai and Ihara
PHILADELPHIA, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FMC Corporation (NYSE: FMC) announced today it has acquired the herbicide fluthiacet-methyl from Kumiai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., and Ihara Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., both of Tokyo. FMC has been distributing fluthiacet-methyl in the United States under the brand name Cadet® herbicide and will now develop the herbicide globally. Fluthiacet-methyl is a broad-spectrum herbicide currently registered for early postemergence use on corn, soybeans and cotton in the United States. It is effective on many tough-to-control broadleaf weeds that have developed resistance to glyphosate.
