EVERETT, Wash., Sept. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fluke® Condition Monitoring and 902 FC True-rms HVAC Clamp Meter have taken top honors in the Consulting-Specifying Engineer 2017 Product of the Year Awards. Fluke Conditioning Monitoring took the Gold Award in the Equipment-Level Sensors and Controls category, and the 902 FC took the Bronze Award in the Test Instruments, Meters, Data Loggers category.
This is the third honor for the 902 FC HVAC Clamp Meter, the fifth for Fluke Condition Monitoring, and the 27th for the underlying Fluke Connect system, the company's full-feature reliability platform that permits Fluke tool users to receive, store, analyze, and report electronic measurement data from more than 40 Fluke Connect wireless test tools.
Fluke Condition Monitoring provides comprehensive picture of asset health
Fluke Condition Monitoring is a cloud-based software platform combined with rugged electrical, temperature, and power quality monitoring devices to support condition-based maintenance programs. The software aggregates the data streams, pooling electronically-collected inspection data with live-stream monitoring and historical records for a comprehensive picture of asset health.
Fluke Condition Monitoring gives maintenance teams a practical, scalable system that accelerates issue detection, analysis, and resolution to optimize the lifespan of expensive equipment without invasive retrofits or specialized training.

Fluke 902 FC HVAC Clamp Meter improves productivity in the field
The rugged CAT III 600V / CAT IV 300V rated Fluke 902 FC performs the essential measurements of HVAC systems — microamps for testing pilot light sensors, resistance up to 60 kilohms, AC current, AC/DC voltage, capacitance and contact temperature — eliminating the need to carry multiple tools. Its small body is easy to hold and the jaw fits perfectly in tight work spaces.
Using the 902 FC, HVAC technicians can:
- Capture flue gas temperatures;
- Conduct flame rod testing;
- Measure start and run motor capacitors; and
- Measure the performance of variable frequency drives.
As part of Fluke Connect®, the 902 FC can transmit measurements to a smartphone or tablet for later, detailed analysis. Those measurements can be uploaded to the cloud. Technicians can combine measurement data from multiple Fluke Connect test tools to create and share reports from the job site via email and collaborate in real time with other colleagues with ShareLive™ video calls or email, increasing productivity in the field.
The wireless clamp meter also decreases the frequency that technicians need to wear personal protective equipment when working on high voltage/current panels. Simply turn off the panel, verify the panel is de-energized using standard safety procedures, place the clamp and sync it to a smartphone with the Fluke Connect app, close the panel, reenergize it, and take measurements from a safe distance.
