Fluent Debuts Political Pulse Survey Portal at AAPC Conference
New independent research service tracks the latest polling numbers in the race for the White House
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fluent, Inc., a leading consumer marketing and advertising technology company, today announced the launch of its Political Pulse web portal during a presentation at the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) regional conference in Austin. The portal, which is updated every week on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. ET, highlights the latest candidate standings (and how the candidates are faring compared to the previous week's poll); which issues are at the forefront of the minds of likely Republican and Democratic voters; and how fired up the respective leading parties' constituents are to vote in the 2016 election.
"Our ongoing political research is deadly accurate," said Jordan Cohen, Chief Marketing Officer for Fluent. "We saw Donald Trump take the lead in the Republican race three days before CNN did. We saw Carson overtake Bush before anyone else as well. The Political Pulse is truly a goldmine for anyone who wants a reality-check on what's going on in the race, in real-time."
The interactive portal is available at http://fluentpoliticalpulse.com. Key findings in this week's research include:
- Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump still lead the way for nominations, but lost ground over the past week. While leading by a healthy margin, Trump is down to 31.6% of the Republican vote – a weekly loss of more than 4 percentage points – losing support in the wake of gains by Ben Carson (#2) and Carly Fiorina (#4). Hillary Clinton is still far ahead of the pack with support from 48.5%, but that is down by a little over 2% from the prior week's poll.
- Joe Biden is a legitimate contender for the Democratic nomination. Despite not yet making a decision on his candidacy, Joe Biden is currently polling at 14% for the Democratic nomination – behind Hillary Clinton, and slightly ahead of Bernie Sanders.
- Trump's Republican pledge does not have voters convinced. When asked if Donald Trump is a realistic candidate for President now that he has agreed to only run as a Republican, 71% of respondents answered "no."
In addition to its regular weekly polling, the Fluent Political Pulse also poses a "Question of the Week" that reflects the most topical and timely trending stories in the media about the upcoming elections. For example, in recent surveys, respondents were asked if they thought Joe Biden would officially declare himself a Democratic candidate for president, and whether they agreed with Donald Trump's statements pertaining to border security and illegal immigration.
