Florida's Brightway Insurance Has Georgia on Its Mind
Company plans to expand in coastal states
ATLANTA, Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh off another record-breaking sales year, Brightway Insurance, one of Inc. magazine's fastest-growing companies, is expanding - again.
Brightway Insurance embarks on a new chapter in Georgia as the company begins its first in a series of expansions across the coastal Southeast, beyond its home base in Florida. In 2010, Georgia's insurance commissioner licensed Brightway Insurance to offer insurance services.
Brightway Insurance identified other states for expansion based on their coastal exposure and strong inland populations. Brightway Insurance already received its state insurance licenses in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas and plans to expand into those markets, said David C. Miller, chief executive officer.
Brightway Insurance seeks to grow in Georgia by recruiting highly successful licensed Georgia agents, a method the company used to grow in Florida. During seven years and despite the recession, more than 92 percent of all Brightway Insurance agents remain successful in the Brightway Insurance model, Miller said. And, by providing significant savings and convenient buying options, more than 90 percent of Brightway Insurance customers renew their policies each year.
"We're providing great value to customers and agents, including state-of-the-art technologies and processes to enhance our customers' experience. In the end, our job is mainly about empowering customers to feel confident concerning their insurance decision. Brightway does this better than anyone else," Miller said.
Despite the recession, or perhaps because of the recession, Brightway Insurance is enjoying much success. The independent insurance agency doubled its new business sales from $35 million in 2009 to $70 million in 2010 without doubling its physical agency offices, which is an unusual feat, Miller said.
Miller links Brightway Insurance's success with its ability to empower customers in a tough marketplace. Brightway Insurance enables customers to save money on premiums without sacrificing any features or benefits. Overall, Brightway customers get better benefits for less money with Brightway Insurance shopping around for the best rate.
"Our model works even better than we expected," Miller said. "Every day, more and more consumers are seeking out Brightway Insurance for our reputation of great rates, great service, great technology, convenience and access to a personal, local agent who knows you and has a desire to help you."
