ORLANDO, Fla., July 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Success strategies from top industry leaders, the latest in high-tech devices and a chance to network with other real estate professionals: That's what the Florida Realtors® 2018 Convention & Trade Expo offers – opportunities to boost business and the bottom line.
This year's Convention & Trade Expo takes place Aug. 8-9, 2018, at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando, with the popular REBarCamp slated to kick off the event on Tuesday, Aug. 7. Then Realtor members will get down to the business of the state association and wrap up the week with governance meetings, Aug. 10-12, 2018.
"Florida Realtors' annual Convention & Trade Expo is a 'can't-miss-this' business opportunity for every Realtor in the state," says 2018 Florida Realtors President Christine Hansen, broker-owner with Century 21 Hansen Realty in Fort Lauderdale. "This year's event will be magical for our members: In the span of two days, they'll be able to hear motivational speakers, gain new marketing techniques, network with peers and learn business strategies from top industry leaders, as well as enjoy exciting entertainment. Florida Realtors' annual convention provides outstanding value to anyone interested in the latest trends, technology and best business practices. I'll be there – will you?"
The 2018 convention features more than 40 education sessions from top industry speakers on various topics such as new trends in real estate, improving sales and productivity, best business practices, digital marketing, property management and investment strategies for Realtors. Sessions are organized into six tracks that allow attendees to focus on a core interest: broker, continuing education, global, personal growth, productivity/profitability and technology.
Convention highlights
- REBarCamp: Aug. 7, noon-5:30 p.m.
In this peer-to-peer session, attendees set the agenda, discuss the issues and discover solutions together. Participants decide that day what's top of mind in the real estate marketplace, then topics are determined from those requests, rooms are assigned and session facilitators are selected. Expect to choose from more than 30 sessions during the event. More than 500 Realtors attended last year's REBarCamp. Attendance is free.
- General Session Keynote: Aug. 8, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. "America's Got Magic!" In a year when Florida's Realtors are "Making Magic in Real Estate," see living proof that "America's Got Magic" with three acts that have performed on the hit TV shows America's Got Talent and Penn & Teller Fool Us. Comedy magician Mac King has been headlining at Harrah's in Las Vegas for decades; Derek Hughes astounds audiences with his seemingly impossible tricks; and The Mentalists, The Evasons, deliver a performance that Penn & Teller say is, "Just breathtaking! We've never seen better." Prepare to laugh and to walk away wondering, how in the world did they do that? One complimentary ticket is included with full convention registration. One additional ticket can be purchased by full convention attendees for $30.
- Dance Party with "Party on the Moon": Aug. 8, 8-11 p.m.
Returning for the 4th year in a row, American's No. 1 Party Band, Party on the Moon delivers a high-energy evening of the latest dance music, '80s classic rock, Latin, disco/funk, R&B and Motown. This 13-piece band – with singers, musicians and dancers – has performed worldwide. One complimentary ticket for the party is included with full convention registration. Additional tickets can be purchased by any attendee for $30.
- Awards Luncheon, featuring magician Ryan Oakes: Aug. 9, noon – 1:30 p.m.
Florida Realtors honors Realtor excellence and service at a ticketed event, including recognizing the Humanitarian of the Year and Realtor of the Year and other award winners. With almost 20 years of performing experience as a magician and mentalist, Ryan Oakes is one of the most sought-after corporate entertainers in the U.S, averaging more than 100 shows per year in at least 20 different states. It all began in 1990, when he became the youngest person ever to win the Society of American Magicians' National Magic Competition, one of the highest honors in magic.
