TALLAHASSEE, Fla., June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) recently announced their 2016 Long Term Care Excellence in Nursing Award Recipients at a luncheon held during the annual FHCA Nurse Leadership Program. The Long Term Care Excellence in Nursing awards are given to nurses who display their commitment and devotion to long term care communities in a wide array of services: clinical practice, person-centered care, continuous quality improvement, customer responsiveness, leadership and communication. The various awards distributed annually for long term care in nursing fall under the following categories: Nurse Administrator of the Year, Registered Nurse of the Year, Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year, and Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year.

One of PruittHealth's own, Amy Welty of PruittHealth – Santa Rosa, is the recipient of the 2016 Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year Award.

After Amy received her LPN in 2008, she began her career at PruittHealth – Santa Rosa, where she still works today. Amy is described as being bright, compassionate, kind, and truly committed to quality care.
