Florida Entrepreneurs Elisabeth Nassberg and Nikki Stillman, Owners of Just Like Family Home Care, Win the 2010 SCORE Award for Outstanding Woman-owned Business
WASHINGTON, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" honors Elisabeth Nassberg and Nikki Stillman, owners of Just Like Family Home Care in Naples, Fla., with the SCORE Award for Outstanding Woman-owned Business. They earned this honor for their contributions to their community, exemplary achievements in their field, and overall business success. Nassberg and Stillman will accept this award, which is sponsored by Constant Contact, at the 2nd Annual SCORE Awards and black-tie gala.
Nassberg, Stillman and other SCORE Awards winners will be recognized during a September 16 event at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. Learn more at www.score.org/score_awards.html.
Two women co-workers and friends, Nikki Stillman and Elisabeth Nassberg, and Elisabeth's husband Jacob researched and chose the Naples, Fla., market for a private-duty home care business.
Naples SCORE counselor Chick Heithaus and additional mentors helped them learn about the market, develop advertising and marketing plans, and identify sources of financing. "It was a match made in heaven," says Elisabeth. "They were there with us in the very beginning stages."
Soon after Just Like Family Home Care was founded, the economy floundered, and Nikki, Elisabeth and Jacob needed to adapt. They turned to SCORE again to help them be successful in a tough economy. "We utilized some SCORE counseling sessions to move forward. We had to adjust our business strategy to keep up with the economy," Elisabeth says.
