Florida Adds 13 Wheelchair-Accessible MV-1s
Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority will feature CNG MV-1s
LIVONIA, Mich., Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobility Ventures announced today that the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit authority (HART) of Hillsborough County, Florida is purchasing 13 wheelchair-accessible MV-1s off the Florida State Contract in an effort to increase accessible transportation for area residents. These purchases are being made through Creative Bus, an MV-1 dealer with locations nationwide.
HART provides public transit services in Hillsborough County and surrounding areas, covering approximately 1,000 square miles. The transit authority chose to purchase Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) MV-1s, reflecting their commitment to clean energy as well as accessibility.
"Adding these CNG MV-1s in Hillsborough County will improve the quality of life for many people with disabilities," said Pat Kemp, executive vice president, Mobility Ventures. "Convenient, affordable, safe and reliable transportation is a critical need for these individuals."
MV-1, the first and only American-made wheelchair-accessible vehicle, comes standard with a built-in side-entry ramp, ample head room and seating for up to five making it the perfect solution for consumers, commercial use, and government fleets.
