Key Findings
Among its many insights, the report shows that in less than two months from its late June launch, the Apple iPhone 4 became the most frequently activated device among Good's enterprise customers. The Apple iPad leaped into the top five very quickly as well, showing that enterprise customers want to use these new tablet devices for business. Android continued to grow rapidly as more new devices come to market, with the Droid X by Motorola ranked as the most frequently activated Android device in September.
Enterprise Platform Share:
- Apple iOS devices represented more than 50 percent of net new activations from June through September, 2010
- Android devices represented nearly 30 percent of net new activations over that period
- Windows Mobile devices represented 15 percent of net new activations over that period
Based on just a few models iOS devices continue to dominate Good Technology's net new activations, due to the launch of the iPhone 4 and the steady climb of iPad activations in Good's enterprise accounts. The Android OS, which is available on a wide variety of handsets and has recently added a number of tablet devices to its ranks, now represents close to 30 percent of Good's net new activations, up from less than 20 percent in 1Q 2010.
