Flipps and Vuguru Announce Direct-to-TV Distribution Deal
SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Multi-screen streaming service, Flipps, is pleased to announce a distribution partnership with leading independent multi-platform studio, Vuguru. Two of Vuguru's flagship digital series will soon be available for "Direct-to-TV" streaming via Flipps.
Vuguru has been an innovator in delivering quality storytelling to audiences through emerging technologies. These pioneering scripted series with millions of viewers will for the first time be available for streaming on Smart TV's and gaming consoles via the Flipps platform.
Backed by Tim Draper, the founder of "viral marketing," Flipps is available for iOS and Android devices as a mobile app that delivers over-the-top video to Smart TV's over wireless Internet networks. Viewers will be able to stream the Vuguru series from the Flipps mobile app to any of their connected TVs. Flipps supported devices include internet-connected televisions by Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG, and Philips, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Apple TV.
"Bringing online original programming to the connected home is a natural extension of the Flipps brand and Vuguru is a leader in the space. We're excited to be the first to bring on-demand Vuguru series to the TV screen – making them available and easily accessible to millions of viewers," said CEO of Flipps, Kosta Jordanov.
Flipps, formerly iMediaShare, is the first device-agnostic video streaming service. Unlike many over-the-top streaming devices on the market, the Flipps mobile app doesn't require an additional set-top box, TV dongle, or TV app to work. There's no setup, as Flipps automatically discovers connected devices in the network, making video streaming virtually effortless.
"Prom Queen" is the global hit franchise following the lives of the students at Edward Adams High as they struggle to find love, popularity, and happiness in a place that is cursed with tragedy, obsession and jealousy. Produced by Big Fantastic (Control TV, Sorority Forever) and starring Katy Stoll, Sean Hankinson, David Loren and Laura Howard, the series takes viewers on a thrilling journey uncovering the history behind murders within the school walls that plague the characters. "Back on Topps," is a satirical behind-the-scenes look into one of the world's most recognizable sports companies. When The Topps Company falls into new ownership, sport-loving twin brothers and heirs to the Topps fortune, Leyland and Leif Topps (Jason and Randy Sklar), must navigate the murky corporate waters of their new work environment and prove to their new boss they are valuable to the sports card world.
