Flip Video Signs on to Support Life is good Festival 2010
Flip for Good Program Offers Limited-Edition Flips and Preferred Viewing-Area Access for Ticket Purchasers
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Cisco's Flip Video™ has signed on to support the 2010 Life is good Festival to be held Sept. 11-12 in Canton, Mass. As part of its ongoing Flip for Good™ philanthropy program, Flip Video will offer limited-edition Life is good Flip video cameras and match every purchase by donating a free Flip video camera to the Life is good Foundation.
Fans attending the festival that purchase a limited-edition Flip video camera online prior to the event will be rewarded for their support with a Life is good T-shirt and entrance to a special preferred viewing area located next to the main festival stage. The limited-edition Life is good Flip video cameras will be available for purchase through the Life is good website (www.lifeisgood.com/festivals) starting Sept 1. The Life is good Company's founders, Bert Jacobs and John Jacobs, will also be using the custom-designed Flips to capture and share their own personal videos of the festival highlights.
"The Life is good Festival is an ideal opportunity for us to align our Flip for Good program with a great cause and family friendly event," said Jodi Lipe, director of marketing for Cisco's Consumer Products. "The festival goers are in for an exciting weekend and they can capture it in a fun and simple way with their Flips."
"The 2010 Life is good Festival at Blue Hills is a one-of-a-kind event, offering music and entertainment that both music fans and families will enjoy, all while raising funds for kids in need," said Bert Jacobs, chief executive optimist of Life is good. "We are thrilled to have Flip Video join the Life is good Festival to support our foundation and to add a new element to the weekend of fun. We look forward to seeing the individual highlights of the festival, created by fans on their Flips."
Prior to the event, Boston fans will have several chances through local radio promotions to win a pair of tickets for the weekend festival, as well as a special Life is good Flip to capture all their memorable moments. One grand prize winner will be selected to receive an all-access pass to bring their Life is good Flip and shoot behind-the-scenes video during the festival. The winner's personal video compilation of the festival will be posted for others to view on social media sites.
Coming later this fall, Flip Video and the Life is good organization will again join forces for a fan contest that will offer one lucky winner the chance to be a Life is good Flip Reporter. The winner will receive a limited-edition Life is good Flip video camera and an all-expense paid trip to the Life is good headquarters to meet founders Bert Jacobs and John Jacobs and document their trip. During their exclusive visit, the Flip Reporter will get behind-the-scenes access to the company and their video footage will then be posted on the Life is good and Flip Video Facebook pages.
The two-day Life is good music Festival is held to raise money to support children facing life-threatening challenges, including violence, illness, and extreme poverty. The festival will feature nationally- known musical talent, including Jason Mraz, Ben Harper & Restless 7, Ziggy Marley, Laurie Berkner, Dan Zanes and many others. The festival will also feature good food, games, activities and art projects, making it the perfect destination for the entire family. The multi-stage festival will take place September 11 – 12 on historic and picturesque Prowse Farm at the foot of the Blue Hills in Canton, Mass., a suburb of Boston.
