Flextronics Wins Stevie® Award for Human Resources Department of the Year
SINGAPORE, July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX) announced today that its Americas Human Resources (HR) team has been recognized as the Human Resources Department of the Year and recipient of the 2011 Stevie® Award for this category. The award was presented to Flextronics during the 9th Annual American Business Awards gala held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
The American Business Awards are the United States' premier business awards program and the Stevie® Award was specifically created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide. Stevie Awards® were presented in over 40 categories including Best Overall Company of the Year, Executive of the Year, and Best New Product of the Year. More than 2,800 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
The final judging committee of more than 200 executives across the country selected Flextronics Americas HR as the winner due to its exemplary efforts in the following areas:
- Expanding the Lean concept to various HR "back-office" functions to reduce costs, enhance efficiency and improve productivity.
- Making a difference in the community via FlexCares, a corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSER) initiative.
- Implementing Workday HR Information System that empowers all managers and employees to execute basic HR tasks via a unified "self-service" system.
- Establishing an HR Shared Services Center to electronically house employee records and provide transactional services for the staffing, global mobility, total rewards, training, compliance, and payroll functions.
