Flextronics Lab IX Accelerator Program Announces Support For Early-Stage Disruptive Technology Companies
MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX) today announced that its accelerator business, Lab IX, has entered into agreement to provide a broad range of support to four different early-stage, disruptive technology companies.
Launched in July of this year, Lab IX, partners with start up, game changing, technology companies and provides support and services to select technology companies incorporating hardware and software innovation. Lab IX is uniquely situated within Flextronics' Silicon Valley Product Innovation Center and providing office and shop space, new product introduction services, design and advanced engineering support, and access to Flextronics' global supply chain and manufacturing expertise.

OMsignal
OMsignal has created apparel that continuously tracks an individual's biometrics to help customers connect to a fitter, healthier, happier self. Embedded sensors in the apparel monitor heart rate, breathing and activity while the OMsignal app displays data in real-time on a mobile phone. OMsignal fits seamlessly into everyday life. Lab IX is working with OMsignal to optimize their manufacturing processes and help redesign their electronics.
Amiigo
Amiigo combines technology and an innovative sensing technology powered by proprietary discrimination and machine learning algorithms. The technology allows users to not only track what exercise they are doing, but also the amount of reps, sets, duration and intensity, as well as heart rate, blood oxygen and skin temperature. Lab IX is working with Amiigo to reshape and design its product to optimize for volume manufacturing.
Central Standard Timing
Chicago-based Central Standard Timing (CST) uses innovative materials, technologies and processes that include pairing an E Ink display with a cutting edge flexible solid-state battery that result in a thin, disruptive product. Lab IX is working with CST on design verification testing and developing innovative manufacturing processes.
NextInput
NextInput develops next generation input technology – force-sensitive touch technology for smartphones, tablets, laptops, automotive touch zones and virtually any other electronic device.
