Flextronics Expands Computing Operations, Opens New Computing Design and Manufacturing Facility in Wuzhong, China

SINGAPORE, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Flextronics (Nasdaq: FLEX) today held a ceremony to celebrate the launch of its newest Flextronics Computing facility, which is located in Wuzhong, China. This new computing-focused campus is strategically aligned with Flextronics' other computing sites in Beijing, Shanghai and Wujiang and provides complete design and manufacturing services for desktop, all-in-one (AIO) computers, notebook products, and tablets. The facility is over one million square feet in size and further strengthens Flextronics' position in China as an innovative manufacturing center for computing products.  

The Wuzhong Export Processing Zone (EPZ) was chosen as the location for Flextronics' newest computing facility based on strategic benefits of the area including its excellent infrastructure, strong government support, outstanding talent pool and its proximity to the Suzhou Higher Education Center. Flextronics expects to hire more than 12,000 engineering and manufacturing employees to support services at this location.

In line with Flextronics' commitment to uphold the highest standards in social and environmental responsibility, the company invested in state-of-the-art systems for the development of employee-centric living and working areas and installed an energy-saving, carbon dioxide reduction ecosystem onsite.
