Flexpoint Prepares for Qualification to Manufacture Automotive Products
DRAPER, Utah, Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) http://www.flexpoint.com today discussed their intended process for qualification to manufacture products in the automotive industry.
Clark Mower, President of Flexpoint said, "It is Flexpoint's intent to manufacture products for the automotive industry. To do so, the Company will need to become TS 16949 certified. This process requires a manufacturing facility audit. We will begin this process once we have a production agreement in hand. The Company may be required to contract or license the initial sensor production with a third party manufacturer who is already qualified and certified to manufacture for the automotive industry. If that is required, we will attempt to negotiate the production agreements so that we will be able to take over the manufacturing process as soon as we are certified. The company is in the process of making suitable arrangements with outside manufacturers as a backup to insure that production can begin shortly after the production agreements are completed."
Mower continued, "We anticipate launching multiple products during 2012 for the automotive industry. Flexpoint is excited about the advancements we are making towards our first production contract and becoming a certified automotive product manufacturer."
