FlexEnergy's Clean Power Solutions Qualify for California's Newly Expanded Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)
Substantial Reduction in Cost of Clean Energy to Customers
IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FlexEnergy Inc (www.flexenergy.com), a clean tech business with the breakthrough, near-zero emissions solution to generate clean energy from natural gas and waste gas streams, applauds the passage of California's expanded Self-Generation Incentive Program, or SGIP. The program is designed to accelerate the adoption of clean and ultra-efficient energy generation technologies and can significantly reduce the costs of purchasing and installing qualified equipment such as the Flex Powerstation™ FP250 and the Flex Turbine™ MT250.
"The SGIP incentivizes customers to choose environmentally responsible energy technologies that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and leave California's air clean," said Joseph Perry, CEO of FlexEnergy Inc. "FlexEnergy's ultra-low emissions solutions are available today to serve customers seeking energy independence and a clean source of power."
Customers with combined heat and power (CHP) needs can receive incentives covering up to 60% of the total project cost when purchasing one or more of the 250 kilowatt Flex Powerstation™ or Flex Turbine™. Approved by the California Public Utilities Commission on September 8, 2011, the new SGIP is expected to begin accepting applications this fall.
SGIP Incentive levels are as follows:
Biogas: up to $2,500/kW incentive or 60% of project cost
Conventional (natural gas): up to $500/kW incentive or up to 60% of project cost
*Assumes on-site generation and GHG reduction levels per program guidelines
