AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- FlashParking is pleased to announce that industry veteran Matt Cahill has joined the company as its new Chief Strategy Officer. In this newly created role, Cahill will help foster FlashParking's growth and evolution as a leading parking technology provider, as well as assist in defining the elements of FlashParking's future strategic plan.
Cahill joins FlashParking from Towne Park where he served on their executive team, with his most recent role as Executive Vice President. Cahill started from humble beginnings as a valet runner for Towne Park, and over the course of his 25-year career, he literally worked his way through the ranks of Towne Park. Cahill oversaw many transformation efforts, most notably overseeing the strategic portfolio and revenue growth, helping grow its customer base from a handful of accounts to well over a thousand. He was also in charge of nurturing the company's hotel business development and talent group.
FlashParking has expanded into new territories and diversified its product offerings over the past 14 months. And as FlashParking continues to grow and evolve as a leading parking technology provider, Cahill will play a critical role in supporting and advancing these efforts. In particular, Cahill will leverage his hospitality knowledge and network to develop and nurture more enterprise-level customers for FlashParking.
"I was an early adopter of Flash technology and knew that one day I'd like to work with this team. They are aggressively re-thinking how parking works and I️ wanted to participate," said Matt Chaill. "This team is innovative, entrepreneurial and flat-out fun to be around. Big things to come."
"I am confident Cahill's experience and skills are a great match for FlashParking as we continue to grow our business and differentiate our industry-leading products and services," said Juan Rodriguez, CEO of FlashParking. "Adding a CSO to our leadership team will enable us to better anticipate both our current and prospective customers' needs."
Also noteworthy, Cahill was a founding member of the Green Parking Council and served on its board of directors. The GPC was a non-profit organization offering certification and credentialing programs, open-sourced standards, professional leadership and educational development and training for organizations and individuals in the parking industry. It is now currently run and operated by the International Parking Institute.
Cahill served in the U.S. Army. He studied German at the U.S. Army's Defense Language Institute, and then served as a German linguist. Cahill is proud to have had two employers in his life, well, now three.
