NEW YORK, May 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Floyd Mayweather Jr's net worth is set to surge by 37% to as much as US$330 million, according to Wealth-X estimates, after the boxer, nicknamed "Money," beat Manny Pacquiao, in a historic 12-round championship welterweight super-fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The match is the richest in boxing history, with the fighters sharing a purse expected to total US$300 million, although the exact figure is unknown. The purse split is 60-40 in Mayweather's favor.
Thirty-eight-year-old Mayweather, an undefeated five-weight world champion, is expected to take home as much as US$180 million in revenues from Saturday's fight including pay-per-view subscriptions, arena tickets, sponsorship, merchandise, broadcast sales, and other earnings.
Thirty-six-year-old Filipino fighter Pacquiao, a six-time welter weight world champion, is expected to pocket as much as US$120 million from the epic bout, pushing his estimated net worth to as much as at US$300 million – a 36% increase.
