SHELTON, Conn., Aug. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Five Star Products, Inc. recently achieved NUPIC-approved suppliers list status, upon successful completion of the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC) audit conducted at the Shelton, CT and Chardon, OH facilities in July 2018. NUPIC members include all domestic US nuclear utilities, as well as several international members.
Formed in 1989 and committed to the future of commercial nuclear power, NUPIC has a proven process for evaluating suppliers furnishing safety-related components, services and commercial-grade items to nuclear utilities to ensure the highest standards of quality. Once a company is placed on the NUPIC-approved suppliers list, any nuclear utility can use this supplier if it approves the audit that was conducted by NUPIC.
The week-long audit was led by Tennessee Valley Authority to determine if Five Star has implemented an effective 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and 10 CFR 21 quality assurance program that meets the requirements of ANSI/ASME NQA-1 1994 and 2008 Editions. Five Star Products is proud to have successfully completed this milestone.
