NEW YORK, June 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BBDO Worldwide was, for an unprecedented fifth year in a row, named Network of the Year at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, widely regarded as the world's preeminent creative competition.

The Network of the Year Award was first established in 2007. BBDO Worldwide has won it every year since.
In addition, BBDO's Brazilian agency, Almap BBDO, was named individual Agency of the Year, for the second year in a row, and BBDO New York was the third most awarded agency.
The year also saw the presentation of the first-ever Lions for Creative Effectiveness. BBDO won that, too, with AMV BBDO, London winning the Grand Prix for its campaign for PepsiCo. This, in the same week that BBDO was named the Most Effective Network in the world in the Effie Effectiveness Index by Effie Worldwide and WARC.
In all, 18 BBDO agencies from across every region combined to win a total of 72 coveted Lions, with work that spanned all forms of communication from Cyber to Design, Direct, Film, Media, Outdoor, Press, Promotion, PR, Radio and Titanium/Integrated. Included were Grand Prix awards for both PR and Radio, bringing to three the number of Grand Prix won by BBDO, the most of any agency group.
Awarded work was created for 50 different clients and brands, among them, some of BBDO's biggest global advertisers such as Mars, P&G, Mercedes, PepsiCo and FedEx.
