Five Closed-End Funds Managed By Aberdeen Announce Name Changes

PHILADELPHIA, March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Chile Fund, Inc. (NYSE Amex: CH), The Emerging Markets Telecommunications Fund, Inc. (NYSE Amex: ETF), The First Israel Fund, Inc. (NYSE Amex: ISL), The Indonesia Fund, Inc. (NYSE Amex: IF), and The Latin America Equity Fund, Inc.(NYSE Amex: LAQ)  (collectively known as the "Funds"), today announced board-approved name changes for the Funds in order to identify the manager more closely with the Funds and to differentiate them in a competitive market with many known brands. The Funds' investment objectives and AMEX ticker symbols will remain the same. The name changes are as follows:
