Five Additional Whistleblower Lawyers Join Constantine Cannon's Expanding Whistleblower Practice, One of the Nation's Largest and Most Experienced
NEW YORK, July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Constantine Cannon LLP is pleased to welcome qui tam lawyers Mary Inman, Tim McCormack, Jessica Moore, Molly Knobler and Ari Yampolsky to its growing whistleblower practice. Christine Zengel and Janice LeBon have also joined the firm as Whistleblower Practice Manager and Paralegal, respectively. This team -- all formerly with Phillips & Cohen -- joins the firm's recent whistleblower lawyer additions of Eric Havian, Wayne Lamprey and Anne Hartman, who earlier this year joined the firm to open its San Francisco office. With a total of 11 attorneys, who bring more than 100 years of collective experience in whistleblower cases, working full time representing whistleblower clients, Constantine Cannon is now one of the largest and most expert whistleblower law firms in the United States. Additionally, the firm's London office allows for the unique ability to serve whistleblower clients in Europe and Asia.
Ms. Inman and Mr. McCormack have joined the firm as Partners, Ms. Moore as Of Counsel, and Ms. Knobler and Mr. Yampolsky as Associates with the firm.
Mary Inman has spent the past 18 years working exclusively on whistleblower matters, on cases that have led to the collective recovery of more than $380 million for the federal government and various states. Ms. Inman joins Constantine Cannon's San Francisco office.
Jessica Moore also joins Constantine Cannon's San Francisco office with ten years of experience exclusively representing whistleblower clients. Among her many whistleblower accomplishments was her role as one of the lead attorneys in a qui tam case against DaVita Healthcare Partners, which resulted in the largest stand-alone kickback settlement in history (more than $400 million) and a whistleblower award of $65 million. Ms. Moore's extensive experience in representing whistleblowers includes her role as senior trial team member in several significant trials resulting in successful verdicts for her whistleblower clients. Inman and Moore are joined in the firm's San Francisco office by Ari Yampolsky.
Tim McCormack, who joins Constantine Cannon's Washington, DC office and brings nine years of experience representing whistleblower clients, played key leadership roles in whistleblower cases that successfully helped the federal government and various states recover more than $330 million. One of these cases resulted in a landmark $150 million recovery against a medical device manufacturer and more than 100 hospitals for a scheme involving improper billing for spine surgeries. His clients have received nearly $60 million in whistleblower rewards. McCormack is joined in the firm's DC office by Molly Knobler, who also has substantial experience representing whistleblowers, particularly in the healthcare and defense contracting industries.
Inman, McCormack, Moore, Knobler and Yampolsky collectively bring an additional 40 years of experience devoted exclusively to whistleblower cases to add to the firm's already seasoned whistleblower lawyer team. Members of the whistleblower team have been responsible for securing more than $1.7 billion in recoveries for federal and state governments and more than $300 million in whistleblower rewards for clients. This is in addition to the firm's internationally known antitrust practice, which has recovered more than $5 billion in damages and tens of billions of dollars more in injunctive relief, including two of the largest antitrust settlements in US history.
"The firm is very pleased to welcome Mary, Tim, Jessica, Molly and Ari to our growing whistleblower practice," said Richard Aborn, Constantine Cannon's Managing Partner. "The attorneys on our team have a long and unsurpassed track record of success, and we look forward to the contribution of their depth of knowledge and expertise."
Gordon Schnell, who founded Constantine Cannon's Whistleblower Practice, said: "We are very excited about the continued expansion of our whistleblower practice on both coasts and in Europe. Whistleblowers now more than ever need the full-service reach and representation our firm is uniquely able to provide."
"Constantine Cannon was the logical choice for our cadre of experienced whistleblower lawyers," said Mary Inman. "Having secured two of the biggest antitrust settlements in history, Constantine Cannon is committed to dedicating the resources and talent necessary to successfully pursue the largest of adversaries, which is a crucial ingredient in any successful, high-stakes False Claims Act and whistleblower practice, particularly as more and more of these cases are taken to trial. We couldn't have found a better home."
Tim McCormack added: "With the rapidly changing and consolidating healthcare industry, the False Claims Act and the Antitrust laws are two of the key tools available to taxpayers, consumers, physicians and hospitals to fight fraud, corruption, economic bullying and intimidation. I look forward to continuing to represent whistleblowers in protecting our tax dollars, and doing so arm in arm with the renowned litigators of Constantine Cannon."
Jessica Moore echoed this sentiment: "It's exciting to be a part of this team of outstanding and dedicated whistleblower attorneys and to join up with the successful, vibrant, and dynamic attorneys at Constantine Cannon."
Eric Havian remarked on his former colleagues who have decided to rejoin him at Constantine Cannon: "It is tremendously exciting to welcome to Constantine Cannon colleagues whom I've worked with and respected for many years. They are an extraordinarily talented and experienced group of whistleblower experts."
Constantine Cannon is one of the few full-service litigation firms in the country to also have a practice dedicated solely to representing whistleblowers under the federal and state False Claims Acts, as well as the SEC, CFTC and IRS whistleblower programs. The firm's lawyers have worked with government enforcers in nearly every state, and with offices on both coasts and in London, Constantine Cannon is well prepared for whistleblower cases arising anywhere in the United States, Europe or Asia.
