Fitzgerald's 'Long Story Short' Work for Quikrete Wins Best of Show at Radio Mercury Awards

ATLANTA, June 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fitzgerald & CO has won the Radio Mercury Awards' Best of Show award for their "Long Story Short" radio campaign on behalf of Quikrete, the country's largest manufacturer of packaged concrete and cement Mixes.

The innovative "Long Story Short" campaign consists of a series of radio spots that condensed traditionally long stories, such as that of the Bible or about Julius Caesar, into 10-seconds each in order to emphasize the benefit of Quikrete's fast-setting concrete.

Chris Smith, Chief Judge at the Radio Mercury Awards, said of the campaign, "We chose this Best of Show winner this year because it was a very simple idea that worked again, and again, and again, and again. And around the table we could think of more ways it could keep working."

The "Long Story Short" campaign also won Silver at London International Awards and had two One Show shortlists earlier this year.

The Radio Mercury Awards is the only competition exclusively devoted to excellence in radio. Fitzgerald previously won the Radio Mercury Award Innovation Prize in 2012 for a Coca-Cola radio campaign recorded live on a rollercoaster.
