Fish & Richardson's Melsheimer, Fox, Mateja Named Among Best Lawyers in Dallas

DALLAS, April 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Three accomplished attorneys from Fish & Richardson again have earned selection to D Magazine's exclusive listing of The Best Lawyers in Dallas.

Dallas managing principal Tom Melsheimer and firm principals Stephen Fox and Bill Mateja are included in this year's list after earning multiple prior selections to the annual roster compiled by D Magazine.

Published in May, the list is compiled from nominations submitted by attorneys across North Texas. Final selections are made by a blue-ribbon panel of lawyers working with the magazine's executive editor.

Mr. Melsheimer, who earned a spot on the 2013 list for his work in business litigation, also is featured in a profile story titled, "10 Rules of Being a Big Shot Dallas Lawyer." The article discusses Mr. Melsheimer's extensive legal accomplishments, including his representation of whistleblower Allen Jones in a fraud lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson. That case ended in January 2012 when Johnson & Johnson agreed to pay a $158 million settlement, the largest Medicaid fraud settlement in Texas history.

Mr. Fox was selected based on his work in labor & employment litigation for both businesses and individuals. Co-head of the firm's Business Litigation group, Mr. Fox also represents clients in litigation involving trade secret theft, corporate espionage, unfair competition, class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and employment discrimination.

Mr. Mateja earned a spot on the best lawyers list based on his work in white-collar criminal defense, government investigations, and health care fraud and abuse. A decorated former federal prosecutor, Mr. Mateja previously served as Senior Counsel to U.S. Deputy Attorneys General Larry Thompson and James Comey in Washington, D.C. He also served as the point person for President George W. Bush's Corporate Fraud Task Force, in addition to his oversight role for the Justice Department's white-collar, health care fraud and corporate fraud efforts.
