HOUSTON, Sept. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Fish & Richardson senior principal Danielle (DJ) Healey is among the 2018 "Women Who Mean Business" selected by Houston Business Journal in recognition of her career achievements, leadership and community involvement.
Healey is an accomplished patent trial lawyer who has held various leadership roles over the past 24 years, including opening and growing Fish's Houston office. Some of the biggest technology companies in the world have turned to Healey for their high-stakes patent and trade secret litigation. She has argued patent cases in federal district courts across the country and before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and was co-counsel on a recent patent case in the Supreme Court of the United States. Healey has also argued trade secret cases in federal and state courts across the country. In addition, Healey is a World Intellectual Property Organization arbitrator and a certified mediator.
Healey is also a strong community advocate and role model. She has obtained asylum for pro bono clients through her work with Immigration Equality, the leading national LGBTQ immigrant rights organization in the country, and the Organizacion de Latina Trans de Texas. She filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court of the United States for the National LGBT Bar and Equality Texas in support of Mayor Turner and the city of Houston's policy of providing benefits for same-sex spouses of employees. She also works with Lambda Legal and the Human Trafficking Pro Bono Center.
She received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas Law School in 1985 and her B.A. from Brown University in 1982.
