Fish & Richardson Principals -- Juanita Brooks and Katherine Kelly Lutton -- Named to "Top 250 Women in Litigation" List

BOSTON, July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fish & Richardson announced today that two of its principals -- Juanita R. Brooks and Katherine Kelly Lutton -- have been named to the inaugural edition of "Top 250 Women in Litigation" by Benchmark Litigation.  The guide honors 250 female litigators in all 50 U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia, for their achievements in the field.

Ms. Brooks has a nationwide trial practice, specializing in complex intellectual property (IP) litigation.  She has been first chair on over 140 career trials, and currently manages an average caseload of nearly 30 active patent infringement cases annually.  She assisted in drafting the local patent rules for the Southern District of California.  Prior to joining Fish to focus on IP matters, Ms. Brooks spent 22 years handling a variety of high profile criminal and civil trials.  She received her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1977 and her B.A. from San Diego State University in 1974.

Ms. Lutton tries high-tech patent cases in a myriad of technologies.  She also advises clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups on their patent portfolios, including providing advice on patent protection, patent enforcement, patent defensive efforts, patent prosecution, and other IP matters.  From 2007 to 2011, Ms. Lutton was Practice Group Leader for Fish's litigation group, which includes approximately 270 lawyers across 12 offices.  She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996, and degrees in electrical engineering from Syracuse University (M.S., 1992) and Binghamton University (B.S., 1990).
