Fish & Richardson Principal Tara D. Elliott Named to "Women Worth Watching" List by Profiles in Diversity Journal

WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Fish & Richardson announced today that Tara D. Elliott, a principal in the firm's Wilmington office, was named to the 12^th annual "Women Worth Watching" list in Profiles in Diversity Journal.  The award honors "today's women leaders and the corporations, organizations, and institutions that recognize, employ, and promote women in the workforce."

At Fish, Elliott is a trial court and appellate advocate, also providing litigation strategy, patent counseling, intellectual property portfolio strategy and management, e-commerce, and trade secret protection advice to some of the world's largest technology companies.  She serves as a member of Fish's Diversity Committee, which develops, implements, and oversees a range of diversity initiatives and activities.

Earlier this year, Elliott was named a "2013 Nation's Best Advocate" by the National Bar Association, which recognizes talented individuals, age 40 and under, within the African American legal community who have achieved prominence and distinction both professionally and philanthropically.  In 2012, Elliott was selected for the Fellows program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, which is designed to increase diversity at the leadership levels of the nation's law firms and corporate legal departments.  In 2011, she was appointed as a Special Master by the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.  She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her Bachelor's in computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
