BOSTON, March 9, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Fish & Richardson has been named the most active law firm at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) for the fourth consecutive year according to a recent Lex Machina report that analyzed inter partes (IPR) reviews challenges filed in 2019. Fish had more appearances than any other firm – appearing in a total of 116 IPRs in 2019. Since the inception of post-grant proceedings in 2012, Fish has appeared in 1,138 proceedings, far exceeding its closest competitor at the PTAB.
"Fish brings a powerful combination of technical know-how, patent prosecution skills and litigation savvy to our PTAB work on behalf of clients," said Dorothy Whelan, co-chair of Fish & Richardson's Post-Grant Practice Group. "Our post-grant teams include experienced patent practitioners and seasoned IP litigators working together to leverage these proceedings to advance our clients' business objectives and complement their patent litigation strategies. This is what differentiates us from other firms that do post-grant work, and what makes our firm so successful."
The Lex Machina 2019 Patent Year in Review report evaluated all IPRs that have been filed since the AIA went into effect in 2012 through December 2019, including those that are pending.
