WASHINGTON, Aug. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fish & Richardson today announced that it has launched a new Federal Circuit Summaries Tracker online resource designed to help intellectual property practitioners stay up-to-date on precedential intellectual property (IP) decisions from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. The Federal Circuit Summaries Tracker database, which is free and accessible online, includes concise summaries of notable holdings from each opinion, a 5-star rating system to indicate Fish's assessment of the potential significance of an opinion, and links to the opinions themselves for easy reference.
All of the cases in the Federal Circuit Summaries Tracker database can be filtered on various parameters, including date, court, and authoring judge, and the summaries can be searched by keyword as well.
"We wanted to provide pithy summaries in near real-time to help IP practitioners stay current on precedential opinions coming out of the Federal Circuit, and their implications for IP law," said Rob Courtney, a principal at the firm who led the development of the Federal Circuit Summaries Tracker.
"We hope our clients will also find the Federal Circuit Summaries Tracker to be a useful tool to help them stay current on key developments and trends in IP law," said John Dragseth, a principal at Fish who also helped develop the Tracker.
"There are various resources to look to for summaries of cases," added Craig Countryman, a principal who also contributed to the launch of the Tracker. "We think the advantage of the Tracker is it focuses on the Federal Circuit, and it gets the information out so much faster."
