FirstService Williams Becomes Colliers International; Catapults into Top Tier
-- Tri-State Hub of World's Third Largest Commercial Real Estate Services Organization to Continue Hiring, Opening New Offices --
NEW YORK, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstService Williams, which has served the needs of commercial real estate clients in the New York area for nearly nine decades, today officially became Colliers International. The firm has adopted the brand, which includes a modernized logo, and will continue to operate as the New York Tri-State hub of Colliers International, the world's third largest commercial real estate services organization.
The new name, however, goes far beyond rebranding. Like its fellow Colliers International offices around the globe, the former FirstService Williams can now better service its clients on a local, regional, national and international basis, thanks to an expansive roster of service lines, industry-leading executives and 15,000 employees working out of more than 480 offices in 61 countries. In addition, Colliers International's Tri-state hub has vowed to continue its expansion by hiring the industry's best and brightest, further expanding service lines and opening new offices across the region.
"Our transition to Colliers International represents a fundamental shift in the balance of power for the entire commercial real estate services industry in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut," said Mark Jaccom, CEO of the New York Tri-State region. "This is a business evolution that clearly positions us as a top tier option with a global reach that includes intellectual capital and service lines in every market around the world. We already see the excitement among our employees, clients, potential clients and professionals who want to join our team."
As part of its continuing growth strategy, the organization brought in veteran real estate executive Joseph Caridi to oversee the revenue and production components of the New York Tri-State region, renowned economist Dr. Peter Kozel to lead the research group and consulting practice, James Raso as the chief financial officer, and Gerard Hallock to lead its revamped Connecticut operation. The firm also recently opened a new office Princeton, N.J.
In addition, the NY Tri-State hub of Colliers International recently hired 25-year industry veteran Frank Edwards as executive managing director of the Project Management Service Group. As the leader of this new division, Edwards will be responsible for growing the business and hiring as many as six new project management professionals over the next year. Colliers International's tri-state hub expects to announce additional talent in the upcoming weeks and months.
"We are now part of a truly global firm with a best-in-class platform, strong financial footing, cutting-edge technology and a willingness to invest in the professional development of its employees," added Robert L. Freedman, Chairman of the Board for the Tri-State region. "Above all else, our clients will be the primary beneficiaries of this move."
The rebranding, which is part of a campaign being undertaken by offices across the United States and around the globe, will bring Colliers International real estate experts and service lines together under one banner. In late April, Colliers International combined operations and global real estate services platforms with FirstService Real Estate Advisors, which also began operating as Colliers International.
"Colliers International is committed to being the market leader in the United States, and bringing FirstService Williams under the Colliers International banner is another step in solidifying that position," said Dylan Taylor, Chief Executive Officer for Colliers International in the U.S. "Colliers International now has a market-leading presence in the New York Tri-State region, and plans to further enhance our operations there. New York is a critically important market, with an extremely talented team in place. The New York Tri-State hub will be the nexus of considerable activity."
