Analyst Update: Earnings Updates and Private Placement
U.S. stocks mostly drifted between modest gains and losses on Friday, May 15, 2015 as investors remained cautious over weaker than expected economic data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.11%, to finish at 18,272.56, the S&P 500 rose 0.08%, to 2,122.73, and the NASDAQ Composite ended the day at 5,048.29, down 0.05%. European stocks closed lower on Friday amid rise in the value of euro against dollar. Germany's DAX 30 lost 0.98%, France's CAC 40 fell 0.71%, and London's FTSE 100 closed 0.18% lower on Friday. Meanwhile, Asian markets painted a mixed picture on Friday. The Shanghai Composite fell as expectation of Chinese stimulus measures cooled, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng and Japan's Nikkei gained on Friday.
On May 7, 2015 MRV Communications, a global supplier of packet and optical solutions, announced its financial results for Q1 FY15. Total revenue during the quarter amounted to $38.8 million, compared to $42.3 million in Q1 FY14.
On April 27, 2015, Digimarc reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. Revenue for Q1 FY15 totaled $6.0 million compared to $7.2 million in Q1 FY14. The decrease was due to lower license revenue, partially offset by higher service and subscription revenue.
Qumu Corporation reported its financial results for Q1 FY15 on May 7, 2015. Revenue for the quarter was $6.0 million, up by 52% from Q1 FY14 levels. Gross margin was 37% of sales in the Q1 FY15 compared with 35% in Q1 FY14.
Materialise NV reported its financial results for Q1 FY15 on May 13, 2015. Revenue for Q1 FY15 increased 24.9% to 23,348 kEUR compared to 18,693 kEUR for Q1 FY14, driven by a strong gain in the 3D Printing Software segment and double-digit growth in the Medical and Industrial Production segments.
On May 11, 2015, Mer Telemanagement Solutions Ltd. announced that it had completed a private placement of 227,271 ordinary shares, constituting approximately 2.9% of the Company's outstanding shares, for $500,000.
