First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale Announces 2017-2018 Concert Series Lineup
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale will kick off its 2017-2018 Concert Series on Sunday, October 22, 2017! With a stellar lineup of eight concerts, the annual concert series will feature an eclectic mix of genres, including choral music, brass, Broadway and opera.
"No matter what your age, you'll find music that inspires you this season at First Pres," said Robin L. McEachern, Minister of Music at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale. "We are excited to have such talented groups of singers and musicians performing at our church this year, and we are eager to share their music with our community."
The concert series will begin Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the church's Sanctuary (401 SE 15th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301) with the Yedra-Chruszcz Duo. Internationally acclaimed husband-and-wife duo Bogdan Chruszcz and Velia Yedra will perform beautiful violin and piano music by Handel, Beethoven, De Fall and Kreisler, among others.
There is no cost to attend a concert at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, but donations will be collected during each concert to help support the church's music ministry programming including the annual concert series.

The Yedra-Chruszcz Duo
Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.
First Pres opens its season with internationally acclaimed husband-and-wife duo Bogdan Chruszcz and Velia Yedra, who have been playing music together for more than 30 years. They will perform beautiful violin and piano music by Handel, Beethoven, De Fall and Kreisler, among others.
Annual Christmas Concert
Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

Experience the glorious music of Christmas presented by the Cathedral Choir and members of the Symphony of the Americas.
Big Brass Live!
Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 4 p.m.
This concert will feature music for a 12-member brass ensemble, percussion and organ. The program will display virtuosic artistry and powerful music from ancient times all the way through Broadway.
Florida Grand Opera Studio Artists
Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 4 p.m.
The FGO's Studio Artist Program will present an array of singers performing everything from operatic arias through the wonderful big hits of Broadway. The Young Artist Program was founded in 1984 and has gained worldwide recognition as one of the leading operatic training programs in the United States.
45th Annual Kirk Singer Musical

The Kirk Singers will present their 45th annual Broadway musical production in two dinner shows (Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10), and two theater-style performances (Thursday, March 8 and Sunday afternoon, March 11). Tickets, available after February 1, 2018 at firstpres.cc, will need to be purchased for each show.
Nova Singers Concert

This ensemble of voices is celebrating their 42nd singing season together! The Nova Singers have enjoyed performing a wide range of choral music, including a cappella, jazz, classical and symphonic genres, as well as several concert tours and recordings. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.
Annual Children's Choir Musical
Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
First Pres' Children's Choirs will present their spring musical, featuring music about faith and the scriptures. There is always a lesson remembered for years to come both by the children and the congregation!
Kirk Singer Farewell Concert

The 2017-2018 Concert Series will conclude with the church's Kirk Singer's youth choir (grades 9-12) in their concert prior to their 55th Annual Summer Choir Tour.
