First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale Announces 2016-2017 Annual Concert Series
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale (First Pres) will kick off its 2016-2017 Concert Series on October 23, 2016. With an exciting lineup of eight concerts, the 2016-2017 concert series at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale will feature a mix of genres, including Broadway, classical, jazz, and popular music.

First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale will launch the 2016-2017 Concert Series on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. with BRASS thru the Ages – 500 years of Heroic Music, in the church's Sanctuary (401 SE 15th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301).
The season's opener, BRASS thru the Ages – 500 years of Heroic Music, is especially exceptional as it includes music from the early Renaissance period and culminates with the jazz and contemporary periods. Comprised of ten brass players along with a percussionist, this musical experience is not-to-be-missed.
There is no cost to attend a concert at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale (except for the Annual Kirk Singer Musical in March 2017), but donations will be collected during each concert to help support the church's annual Concert Series.
All concerts, with the exception of the Kirk Singer Musical, will be held in the Sanctuary (401 SE 15th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. The Kirk Singers Musical will take place in Fellowship Hall (451 Tarpon Drive, Fort Lauderdale FL 33301).

World-renowned for their excellence in choral music, these students from the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ will bring a program of music varied in style, composition, and the polished technique that have characterized this institution since 1926. This ensemble is the core of the larger symphonic choir that performs regularly with the major orchestras of the northeast.
Dunlap & Pennington
Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
This concert is more than amazing! David Dunlap and Wesley Pennington bring their own sound and video system, their own concert grand piano, and a synthesizer that rivals a full symphony orchestra. Video cameras allow the audience to see the artists up close, projected on the big screen. Their program consists of classical selections, jazz, and popular music.
44th Annual Kirk Singer Musical

The Kirk Singers will present their 44th annual Broadway musical production in two dinner shows (Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11), and two theater-style performances (Thursday, March 9 and Sunday afternoon, March 12). Cathedral Choir and Orchestra Spring Concert

The 2016-2017 Concert Series will conclude with the church's Kirk Singer's youth choir (grades 9-12) in their concert prior to their 54th Annual Summer Choir Tour.
