First National Bankers Bankshares, Inc. Announces Hiring of Charlie W. Brinkley, Jr. as Senior Vice President, Florida Region

BATON ROUGE, La., Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- First National Bankers Bankshares, Inc. has announced the hiring of Charlie W. Brinkley, Jr. to the position of Senior Vice President, First National Bankers Bank. Mr. Brinkley will be responsible for Business Development in the state of Florida.

Mr. Brinkley is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Floridian Financial Group, Inc., the holding company for Floridian Bank in Daytona Beach, Florida and Orange Bank of Florida which is located in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Brinkley has served the banking community in an executive capacity that includes having been Chairman of Fifth Third Bank in Central Florida, and prior to the sale to Fifth Third Bank, was Chairman and CEO of Southern Community Bancorp in Orlando, Florida.

Mr. Brinkley holds a bachelors degree in Marketing from The University of Tennessee. Mr. Brinkley is currently a member of The University of Tennessee Development Council and of the Board of Directors of the Athletic Department. He is the 1998 past president of the Florida Banker's Association and was chosen Banker of the Year in 1999 by the Association.
