First Australian Customer Deploys Dicom Systems Enterprise Imaging Unifier
Dicom Systems Expands Into Australian Market With New Teleradiology
CAMPBELL, Calif., Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Dicom Systems, Inc. (www.dcmsys.com), a Silicon Valley-based healthcare IT company specializing in Enterprise Imaging interoperability, announced that Alpenglow Australia ("Alpenglow") has deployed its Enterprise Imaging Workflow Unifier™ network appliance as their teleradiology technology enabler. Alpenglow, a radiology practice that utilises distributed PACS and teleradiology to provide services, was in search of a flexible teleradiology systems that could meet multiple needs. Nearly one third of Australia's population lives in low-bandwidth areas with limited access to medical services–this factor coupled with a rapidly aging population presents healthcare providers with a unique set of IT challenges.
"In some cases, Alpenglow is the only radiology service for hundreds of kilometers. Our role in the continuum of care includes meeting tight turnaround times for a large network of providers," said Ben Ganley, Head of IT and Strategic IT Manager for Alpenglow. "Dicom Systems offered an enterprise imaging platform we found to be extremely versatile and intuitive. Furthermore, we worked with them to create custom interfaces and write scripts. We have a dependable terminator point for numerous workflows as well as a patient identifier master database through the Unifier. Now when files arrive, nothing clashes."
"Our joint collaboration with the exceptional technical team at Alpenglow resulted in powerful 'mini applications,' which really speaks to the customizable functionality of the Unifier," said Dmitriy Tochilnik, President and CTO of Dicom Systems. "We are proud that the Unifier is an instrumental appliance in connecting different platforms and providers, and in the case of Alpenglow, connecting the farthest corners of Australia."
In addition to a new customer in the Australasia region, Dicom Systems has deployed the Unifier appliance to African and European regions. This is the latest development for the U.S. based health IT company which kicked off a focus on expanding global installments in 2017.
