Under the terms of the agreement, SCI becomes an FFIC Referral Partner. They will work together to promote and integrate their products and services for existing and prospective policyholders to offer discounted premiums, reduced fee structures and lower energy and maintenance costs. SCI's flagship product, SCIwatch™, identifies and prioritizes energy system anomalies based on expected performance, predictive modeling, and current climate conditions, saving its users money, reducing liability, and generating energy savings.
"As the first property and casualty insurance company to offer green insurance to the U.S. commercial marketplace, we are very pleased FFIC sees the financial, safety, and environmental value SCIwatch can offer its policyholders," said Russ McMeekin, CEO, Scientific Conservation Inc.
SCIwatch offers Preventative Maintenance Management (PMM) and Energy Base-lining as a core technique for the build industry. The easy-to-install, non-invasive software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution provides immediate payback for facility owners and operators. SCIwatch is already helping customers identify and predict changes in building systems performance before degradation impacts operations and energy consumption. This results in lower maintenance costs and the improved comfort and health of building occupants.
"By predicting problems well before they occur, our customers can maintain building health continuously on a daily basis. The SCIwatch automated PMM solution could have a significant impact for our policyholders because the process identifies and predicts changes in performance before building and asset degradation occur," said Stephen Bushnell, Senior Director of Emerging Industries, Fireman's Fund.
