Find the Right Lift for Servicing New "European Style" Commercial Vans in the Rotary Lift Booth at NADA Expo
MADISON, Ind., Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rotary Lift will show off the full capabilities of its new Shockwave™-equipped, extended-height 12,000 lb. capacity two-post lift at the upcoming NADA Expo. The timesaving SPO12-SW EH3 lift, which features three feet of extra height, will be loaded with the tallest, longest version of the new Ford Transit full-size commercial van in the Rotary Lift booth (#2519S) at the event, which is held Jan. 23-25 in San Francisco.

"Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Ram have created a market for high-roof vans that did not exist a few years ago," says Jim Dirksen, vice president of light-duty lifting for Rotary Lift. "As sales of these vehicles increase, dealers will need to have the right equipment to perform service work on even the largest vans. Our new extended-height SPO12 12,000 lb. capacity two-post lift not only can pick up all of these vans, when it's equipped with Shockwave technology, it's also the fastest such lift in the world."
The SPO12 two-post lift features a symmetric design that keeps a heavy vehicle's center of gravity directly between the columns for maximum stability. With the three-foot extended height option, the lift has an overall height of more than 16 feet. This provides ample room to work under tall vehicles like the high-roof Transit, which is slightly more than nine feet tall.
Equipped with Rotary Lift's Shockwave package, the SPO12 can lift a vehicle 80 inches in just 25 seconds and lower it in 19 seconds. This is twice as fast as a standard lift's rise and descent, which means technicians can complete more jobs each day. To show just how much faster a Shockwave-equipped lift is compared to a standard lift, the Rotary Lift NADA Expo booth will also include two 10,000 lb. capacity SPOA10 two-post lifts loaded with Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedans. One of the SPOA10 lifts will be equipped with Shockwave and one will be a standard model, so attendees can watch lift races between the two.
Rotary Lift will also use the NADA Expo to introduce dealers to a patent-pending accessory that shows technicians, shop managers and health and safety officials at a glance if a lift is resting on its locks. The new LockLight™ connects to a lift's hydraulic system and shines a green light when the lift is lowered onto its locks. Standard industry safety practices require that a lift be lowered to locks before a vehicle is serviced, and health and safety inspectors can cite a shop for each lift they find in the air that is not on its locks. With LockLight, shop managers can easily see whether or not all the lifts in use at any given time are on their locks as they should be, which helps to reduce improper lift use.
Expo attendees looking to maximize productivity in small facilities can walk across the aisle to the Chief Automotive Technologies booth (#2419S) to see the new Rotary Lift ATO7 7,000 lb. capacity two-post lift in action. The lift features an overall width of just 10 feet, 3 inches, which is 14.5 inches less than a traditional two-post lift. While its exterior dimensions are significantly narrower than a standard two-post lift, the ATO7 lift's drive-through clearance is only three inches narrower than that of the SPOA10 two-post lift. At the NADA Expo, the lift will be used to demonstrate the out-of-level frame measuring capabilities of Chief's LaserLock™ Live Mapping™ system.
Rotary Lift's NADA Expo booth will also include a display showing the features of SmartLift®, the world's most popular inground lift. Attendees can see additional Rotary Lift products in the FCA USA LLC (#3019N), Ford Motor Company/Ford Commercial Truck (#103S), and General Motors LLC (#3903N) booths on the trade show floor.
