Financial Services Roundtable and Rebuilding Together Part of 91,000 Community Service Projects
WASHINGTON, March 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Financial Services Roundtable, an organization representing 100 of the largest integrated financial services companies, has released their Community Service 2009 (CS09) report findings, which produced a total of 91,000 community service projects. Rebuilding Together, the nation's leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership, is one of The Financial Services Roundtable's charity partners, whose work across the nation impacting homeowners was included in the 2009 report.

Community Service 2009 includes participating Roundtable partner companies who engage in year-long volunteer service projects to improve the communities in which they live and work. Additionally, Community Service by The Financial Services Roundtable allows members to strengthen partnerships with their nonprofit partners, such as Rebuilding Together, in order to work on projects that truly deliver impact to their communities. The service initiative ran from January 2009 to December 2009 and helped over 9 million Americans.

1,700 of the Community Service 2009 projects that The Financial Services Roundtable reported were home rebuilds and remodeling projects for homeowners in need, and there were 40,322 miscellaneous projects which included energy efficient upgrades and veteran's support. These types of projects are ones that mirror Rebuilding Together's mission in communities, and Rebuilding Together was honored to be a nonprofit partner during 2009, allowing them to complete housing projects across the nation.
155 Members of Congress attended events or were on the CS09 Honorary Congressional Host committee.
