Analyst Update: Public Offering and Financial Results

U.S. stocks continued to surge record highs on Thursday as the Nasdaq Composite closed at its highest level ever, supported by better than expected corporate earnings. The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.41%, or 20.89 points to close at an all-time record high of 5056.06. The S&P 500 advanced 0.24%, or 4.97 points to 2112.93, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed the session at 18,058.69, up 0.11% or 20.42 points. European stocks mostly closed lower on Thursday as investors remained vigil on Greece's debt turmoil and cash crunch situation. Germany's DAX 30 and France's CAC 40 dropped 1.21% and 0.62%, respectively, while London's FTSE 100 gained modestly by 0.3% on Thursday. Meanwhile, Asian stock markets mostly advanced on Thursday as the Shanghai Composite and Japan's Nikkei both closed higher.
Bovie Medical Corporation announced the closure of a sale of an additional 418,749 shares of its common stock pursuant to the over-allotment option of the underwriter in connection with its recent public offering of common stock.
Trevena, Inc. reported a net loss attributable to common stockholders of $49.7 million, or $2.02 per share in 2014, compared with a net loss attributable to common stockholders of $23.6 million, or $29.71 per share in 2013.
Allegheny Technologies Inc. reported that its first quarter 2015 sales were $1.13 billion, which reflected an increase of 14% on YoY basis and 7% on sequential basis. Income from continuing operations attributable to ATI for the quarter was $10.0 million, or $0.09 per share.
China Ming Yang Wind Power Group Ltd reported that its full Year 2014 total revenue was RMB5,872.4 million ($946.5 million), which indicated an increase of 106.4% on YoY basis. Gross profit for the year was RMB813.1million ($131.0 million), up 210.0% from RMB262.3 million in 2013.
American Superconductor Corp., in a preliminary results release, reported that for Q4 2014, it expects revenues in the range of $24-$25 million, the upper end of its previously guided range. For full-year 2014, American Superconductor expects its revenues to be in the range of $69 to $70 million.
