Financial Executives International Hosts 33rd Annual Current Financial Reporting Issues (CFRI) Conference

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Oct. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial Executives International (FEI), the association of choice for CFOs and other senior-level finance executives, will host the 33rd annual Current Financial Reporting Issues (CFRI) Conference on November 17-18 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Focused on economic challenges and regulatory reform, the CFRI Conference will bring together more than 700 senior finance professionals, leading experts and regulators for detailed discussions on the latest accounting and reporting developments.

Attendees will hear keynote remarks from Zachary Karabell, President of River Twice Research, and Marci Rossell, former CNBC Chief Economist and Co-host of SQUAWK BOX. This year's Conference will include timely updates from influential regulators. Senior members of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will discuss proposed new rules, common issues noted in reviews of SEC registrant filings, and the SEC's leading accounting and disclosure projects. The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) will discuss projects including the converged revenue recognition transition, simplification and lease accounting, and the Public Company Accounting Standards Board (PCAOB) will discuss current initiatives and their impact on companies, auditors and audit committees.

- COSO 2013: This session will focus on how leading companies are handling the transition to the COSO 2013 framework and the implementation issues they may encounter as year-end approaches.

- Disclosure Simplification: This session will focus on, from both a preparer and legal perspective, strategies to improve the effectiveness of communicating what's most important to users of an entity's financial statements and accompanying disclosures.
On the evening of November 17, FEI will also host its ninth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Gotham Hall in New York City.
