Finals of Freescale Driverless Vehicle Competition Set for 4 p.m., Oct. 17 at SAE Convergence 2012
WARRENDALE, Pa., Oct. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The finals of the Freescale Cup, a competition for intelligent scale model vehicles, will be held at 4 p.m. today (Oct. 17) at the 2012 SAE Convergence at Cobo Center.
The vehicles will navigate a challenging course without remote controls.
On-board sensors enable the vehicles to navigate the course. The teams must design their own algorithms that drive the car over the black line on the white track as quickly as possible.
Major automobile manufacturers are competing for the Freescale Cup. The technology in the models is someday expected to be placed in automobiles.
