Finally, Ride Service Safety and Peace of Mind with instaALERT from asterRIDE™
Ride Service App Will Notify Individuals You Designate If Something Goes Wrong
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- asterRIDE, a ride service app company that makes requesting rides a safe and predictable experience, has added a new safety feature called instaALERT, which acts like a rider's guardian angel. instaALERT keeps others updated on your ride progression and notifies individuals you designate if something goes wrong during your journey.

With instaALERT, asterRIDE users can assign a family member or friend to be notified when you request a ride. The individual can accept or reject your invitation. If the individual accepts your invitation, they receive a text and email of your trip when you start the ride and when you end the ride.
At the end of every ride, this new asterRIDE feature will ask you if you arrived safely at your destination. If yes, the individual you designate receives an email confirming a safe trip. If the answer is "no," the individual you designate via instaALERT receives an alternate message, which encourages them to call for help.
The family member or friend can also track or monitor your ride and is given the driver name, car type, color, license plate or taxi registration ID number.
"Passenger safety has become a controversial topic for ride-sharing companies," said Seth Rudin, CEO of asterRIDE. "We wanted to make it safer for passengers, especially women, children and single riders. Our goal is to instill confidence in our service and a peace of mind."
asterRIDE is currently available in Phoenix, Orlando and Seattle. Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City, Miami, Atlanta, San Francisco are slated to come online in the first half of 2015.
The asterRIDE app for iOS and Android users connects riders with taxis, limos, luxury sedans, SUVs and para-transit with one-click convenience. Once the app is downloaded, one tap quickly hails a ride with asterRIDE's patent-pending technology. The fare is automatically handled through Braintree's (owned by PayPal) mobile payment system.
asterRIDE uses only commercially insured and city permitted vendors who have undergone detailed background checks. asterRIDE adheres to the industry standards of the taxi and black car industry during peak times and holidays to protect riders against price gouging.
asterRIDE also does not compete with taxi and black car services, which has been a source of contention with competing rideshare services. Instead, it helps its taxi/black car service partners get new customers by conducting the marketing on their behalf. The result is convenient, safe and reliable rides to passengers.
