TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - With the deadline only a week away, The Canadian Journalism Foundation invites print, online and broadcast media from across the country to apply for its Excellence in Journalism Award.
This coveted award celebrates a news organization that embodies exemplary journalistic standards and practices. Winners in two categories are selected:
1) Large or national media
2) Small or local media
Past award recipients in the large media category include The Current (CBC Radio), Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, The Winnipeg Free Press, The Canadian Press and CTV News. In the small media category, the Vancouver Observer, CBC Manitoba, Metroland Durham Region, The Telegram, and The Tyee were among those embodying exemplary journalistic standards and practices.
The award is one of journalism's major awards and is the only one given to a journalistic organization for overall extraordinary performance. A shortlist will be announced in April, with the winner to be announced at the 16th Annual CJF Awards (#cjfawards) to be held at The Fairmont Royal York on June 13.
The deadline for submissions is February 28.
We've made it easier for you to apply with a new online form.
