FileMaker Presents the FileMaker Developer Challenge: Custom Apps for Community
FileMaker developers unite to help three Las Vegas nonprofits solve business pain points with custom apps at this year's FileMaker Developer Conference
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- FileMaker, Inc., an Apple subsidiary, will host the FileMaker Developer Challenge to give back to the Las Vegas community by helping three local nonprofit organizations.
The event, to be held at this year's FileMaker Developer Conference in Las Vegas from July 18-21, will challenge developer participants to create custom apps to help three nonprofit organizations reduce inefficiencies and drive productivity. Specifics of the challenge will be announced at the event, and teams will have two-and-a-half days to build a working prototype of their custom app.
The Las Vegas-based nonprofit beneficiaries are:
- Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth: NPHY is the most comprehensive service provider for the thousands of homeless youth in southern Nevada, serving hundreds of youth through its core programs and touching the lives of thousands more through outreach each year.
- Foster Kinship: Foster Kinship focuses exclusively on helping people who raise children who aren't their own, but are family members, such as grandparents, aunts and uncles. Foster Kinship empowers kinship caregivers to provide the safest, most stable and permanent placements for the children in their home.
- The Center - Las Vegas: The Center is a multifunctional community center that supports and promotes activities directed at furthering the well-being and civil rights of the LGBTQ community, its allies and low-to-moderate income residents in southern Nevada.
Soliant Consulting, a platinum level member of the FileMaker Business Alliance that develops custom apps for small and large businesses, is an official sponsor of the challenge.
