FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., June 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Field Agent, the leader in location-specific mobile market research and data collection, announced today a new product released on the App Store and Google Play called ClassCheck. By leveraging Field Agent's proprietary algorithms and mobile technology, ClassCheck will deliver real-time information about students' class attendance.

With ClassCheck, students are empowered to confirm their own attendance by downloading the app and checking into class. Students are either notified on their mobile device to go to class or pinged when they get to class as a reminder to check in. As students check their own attendance, the results are available to administrators all on one screen. With custom setup and reporting options, the ClassCheck system has made the administrative side simple and intuitive to use for counselors, administrators and coaches.
"We're helping keep honest people honest," said Rick West, CEO and Co-founder of Field Agent. "For example, there is tremendous pressure on Athletic departments to improve student retention by tracking classroom attendance, so this is a great place to start. Giving students the power to be accountable on their own helps the university and the student become more successful."
Field Agent has been using innovative mobile technology for five years in the retail industry to check location-specific audits and to conduct market research. It's a trusted tool used by Fortune 500 companies and small businesses. Field Agent audited and provided quality checks on more than 2 million locations just last year. As a solution-focused team, they have repurposed the Field Agent app to solve problems for universities.
For perspective, large universities such as the University of Arkansas have made class attendance a priority by budgeting funds to employ hourly class checkers to physically check that student-athletes are in class. ClassCheck will drastically reduce that budget by streamlining this process with mobile technology and those funds can be reallocated to focus on education.
"Keeping eyes on a student is an opportunity for everybody to be held accountable. It's a good life lesson where we are building independence, teaching skills and the primary goal is to achieve their degree," said Eric Wood, Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services at the University of Arkansas. "ClassCheck gives us an opportunity to reduce our costs on physical man power. Outside of our tutoring, it can approach a six-figure impact on our budget."
ClassCheck has been in beta testing with the Student-Athlete Services Department at the University of Arkansas since the beginning of the year. This department seeks to empower student-athletes through programs such as ClassCheck to foster a student-athlete's growth on and off the field.
