fi360 Appoints Byron Bowman as General Counsel

PITTSBURGH, June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- fi360, the premier organization for fiduciary education, investment analytics, support services and industry insights for financial professionals, today announced that Byron Bowman has joined the company as General Counsel. Mr. Bowman will direct fi360's senior management on legal matters as well as be involved in monitoring legislative and regulatory changes that affect investment fiduciaries.

An attorney with more than 30 years experience advising mutual fund sponsors, investment advisors, broker dealers, and other investment service firms, Mr. Bowman has particular expertise on federal securities and banking law, ERISA and the fiduciary standard. Additionally, he will serve as fi360's corporate secretary.

"Byron's substantial legal and investment advisory expertise is essential to support fi360's ongoing growth initiatives. He will also be a central resource for our robust network of designees," said fi360 CEO Blaine Aikin. 

Most recently, Mr. Bowman ran his own law practice based in Chicago. Prior to that he acted as general counsel for Hansberger Global Investors, an investment advisory boutique. He has also acted as counsel to banks, investment advisors and investment companies throughout the United States. Mr. Bowman holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. from Michigan State University.
