Barry Callebaut: First chocolate manufacturer to use health claim
The world's largest chocolate manufacturer, Barry Callebaut, is the first company in the cocoa and chocolate industry that may use a scientifically founded health claim. "Cocoa flavanols helps maintain the elasticity of blood vessels, which contributes to normal blood flow" - this claim can now be used to declare that a daily intake of 200 mg of cocoa flavanols contributes to healthy blood circulation. This method preserves 80% of the flavanols in ACTICOA® chocolate in the fermentation stage of chocolate production.
Beneo: The global player from Mannheim
The exhibitor BENEO, from Mannheim, also offer a number of health promoting ingredients for products in demand with consumers. At Fi Europe 2013, this functional ingredients manufacturer will be presenting comprehensive concepts, targeted at helping food and beverage producers satisfy the demand for healthy lifestyles. The company will present a various number of innovative ingredients, for example, nutrients with low glycaemic carbohydrates and properties that prevent tooth decay.
ADM: 30,000 employees in the service of global food trends
ADM will be presenting a new and extensive product portfolio at Fi Europe. This time, its chocolate expertise will take centre stage. ADM has a variety of high quality chocolates, cocoa butters, powders and liqueurs to present. For example, the cocoa powder DeZaan D11SQ will be introduced for the first time in Europe. D11SQ bridges the gap between popular brown and red powders by offering a broad range of applications, with baked goods, beverages, ice creams plus more.
Döhler: Natural colours open new possible applications
Companies like Döhler impress trade fair visitors with a unique assortment of technology based natural flavours, colours, milk products, grain ingredients and fruit and vegetable extracts. With its flavour creations from African and Brazilian fruits, Döhler provides unique taste sensations and enables differentiated product positioning.
The trend of colouring foods, with natural colours extracted from other foods, can be seen at Fi Europe 2013. With its "Crystal Clear Colours", Döhler provides a breakthrough innovation for transparent beverages. The company has demonstrated its knowhow in developing the carotenoid based colours with bright orange and yellow hues. Its formulation technology allows the unprecedented use of colours with a neutral taste profile and highest stability in clear beverages, without any artificial ingredients:
Tate & Lyle: Success with an innovative partner programme
In addition to showcasing ingredient trends, Fi Europe introduces food and beverage manufacturers to innovative partner programmes. British producer Tate & Lyle, for example, will be presenting its SPLENDA® Sucralose PLUS PROGRAMME. Here, Tate & Lyle offers comprehensive services as part of its concept-to-lab-to-market programme - from concepts for immediate manufacture of product samples, to in house workshops for identifying market potential, to logistical support.
