FGM, Inc. on Winning Team to Provide Transition, Integration and Sustainment Expertise for ENCORE II Strategic Knowledge Integration Web (SKIWeb) Contract
RESTON, Va., Jan. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FGM announced today that it has been selected as a subcontractor by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) to support the Department of Defense's SKIWeb contract, awarded under the Defense Information Systems Agency's ENCORE II contract. Under the subcontract, FGM will deploy their innovative solutions to help transition, integrate, operate, maintain, and sustain SKIWeb as an enterprise service for PEO-GES.
SAIC chose teammate FGM, Inc. to fully execute the task order based on FGM's demonstrated understanding and proven ability to successfully transition capabilities to, as well as operate and maintain capabilities within, Defense Enterprise Computing Centers. FGM's significant experience supporting the PEO-GES, Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) Program as well as its familiarity with the SKIWeb capability requirements, architecture, design, and technologies make it a natural choice to quickly and efficiently execute a successful SKIWeb transition.
Strategic Knowledge Integration Web (SKIWeb) was developed to provide a net-centric, asynchronous, collaborative event management capability to improve situational awareness for Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) authorized users. The SKIWeb vision is to organize event-based information into a globally accessible, relevant, near real-time database to enable users to quickly collaborate around significant events to inform decision makers and shorten the decision and action cycles. USSTRATCOM has partnered with DISA to ensure the successful transition and sustainment of SKIWeb as a DoD Enterprise Service.
FGM's CEO Scott Gessay said, "I am pleased that the government has chosen the SAIC/FGM Team to execute the SKIWeb Task. I am excited at the opportunity for FGM to further bolster its reputation for excellence through the application of its technical expertise to this important project for our customer."
