FEV to Sponsor the Stefan Pischinger Young Industry Leadership Award
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FEV, Inc., a leading developer of advanced powertrain and vehicle technologies, announced today that it has agreed to a four-year commitment as the sponsor of the SAE Foundation's Young Industry Leadership Award. Beginning next year, the award will be known as the Stefan Pischinger Young Industry Leadership Award. Prof. Stefan Pischinger is the president and CEO of the FEV Group (FEV), headquartered in Aachen, Germany.
The award, presented annually at the SAE Foundation banquet, promotes careers in the engineering community by recognizing young men and women, ages 35 and under, who have achieved major accomplishments and who show significant potential for leadership growth. The announcement was made by FEV, Inc. president and CEO Gary Rogers.
"FEV has deep roots in engineering education," said Rogers. "In fact, FEV was founded by Prof. Franz Pischinger in 1978, as an extension of applied research and development work that he originally began at the Technical University of Aachen. Prof. Stefan Pischinger continues this philosophy through his dual position as CEO of the FEV Group and Director of the Institute for Combustion Engines at the Aachen Technical University. We are extremely proud to make this commitment toward education and the future leadership of our industry."
At this year's banquet, two individuals were honored with the SAE Young Industry Leadership Award:
- Stacy Martin, senior manufacturing engineer, General Motors; and
- Jennifer C. Wheeler, senior project engineer, AVL Powertrain Engineering, Inc.
